Developed for the Bigmode Game Jam, this is an action mech game that borrows heavily from Armored Core, but with the added twist of being able to transform into a fighter plane

CONTROLS:

  • WASD/Left stick - Menu selection | In mech mode: Movement | In plane mode: Pitch/Roll
  • Mouse/Right stick - Aim
  • Mouse buttons/Shoulder buttons or right trigger - Fire weapons
  • Shift/F/Top face button - Transform
  • Space/Left trigger - In mech mode: ascend | In plane mode: full throttle
  • ENTER/Start - Confirm | Skip cutscene
  • F11 - Fullscreen
  • ESC - Release mouse
  • Double tap ESC - Quit

Linux and Mac versions might be coming soon, will also release an updated version of the game with bug fixes, all the content I wanted to add but didn't have time to, and generally more polish

I feel like this could easily be expanded upon with a few more missions and maybe some alternate weapons or parts for you mech. Just simple stuff like parts that prioritize 1 mode over the other, like more plane or mech maneuverability. The core mechanics and idea are very fun though.

On the way :)

also for some reason the game started crashing, specifically when I died or started/ended a level. Also a quick suggestion is to give the mech some weapons that help one form over the other. Like droppable bombs that do lots of damage to ground targets but are really only good as a plane, and melee weapons for the mech form

I LOVE this in looks and idea for freakin sure. I found the plane hard to really aim with, with how the controls feel. I tried it with a controller and that felt nice. Would love to invert up and down though.
I like the robot mode, but I couldn't get the area clear enough for it to be safe and kept dying pretty quick.

Even if I'm not too good at it, this is really cool and I'm totally impressed.

My only complaint is that mouse controls are only in Mech mode and not in Plane mode. Makes flying a bit of a janky affair.

I'm aware and plan to fix it! I added KB+M controls in a hurry so they're sub-optimal
